A city kid born and raised, Zay embraced modeling after being scouted playing basketball in the LES. Since then, he has graced the runway with his signature nonchalant walk for designers spanning from the avant garde to more traditional ateliers both in New York and Internationally. Through his work with major brands, Zay aims to challenge stereotypes and improve representation for the diaspora. He cites Nigo, Demna Gvasalia and Vivienne Westwood as key influences in his fashion journey thus far.
